Stand Alone Projects in Phase II

Stand Alone projects are individual programmes of research being undertaken, in the main, by one of our Academic Partners with sponsorship from the MoD and one of our three Industrial Partners. You can see the aim and general thrust of each project by selecting it in the drop-down list above and pressing the button to the right. You will also be able to download the most recent poster created for the project, which may help your understanding of what it aims to achieve. Projects are losely grouped together into one of five Research Themes, which you can see in more detail using the link above. At the end of Phase I of the DTC (March 2006) those projects that had matured and showed strong correlation with an exploitable concept were grouped into Clusters under the leadership of one of the three Industrial Partners. (again you see these in more detail using the link above) We aim to continue to exploit the research being done in these 19 "Stand Alone" Projects by grouping those that are worthy and relevant into future Clusters or amulgamating them into existing ones.
